We currently have FOUR very delicious Limited Edition hot sauces. While I am excited to offer so many new varieties, please note that supplies are more limited than usual, due to a harder agricultural season. As such, the Limited Editions here are not currently available for the six pack or full case deals.
The Targu Mures was originally grown in Romania, but I was able to source it through an Oregon company called Adaptive Seeds, that promotes (and breeds) cultivars that are adapted for the Northwest climate. This sauce has a similar heat level as our own Hot Winter Pepper, but is less sweet and more fruity, with rich, dark cherry flavors. The heat is more immediate and less long lasting than our own med-hot sauce.
Chihuacle Negro -- Originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, this dark purple chile is traditionally dried and used in mole sauce. The heat here is mild to medium, but the flavor is rich, full of umami and unsweetened fresh pepper, and is sure to add depth to cooking.
Cherry Bomb -- Oregon's own Adaptive Seeds is attempting to de-hybridize this gem of a pepper. While the result could have yielded more fruit, we were quite happy with the sauce we were able to glean. The flavor is Very fruity, but not at all sweet, with a medium hot but lasting burn.
Aji -- Our all Aji sauce is our spiciest limited edition. Featuring a NW adapted capsicum baccatum, this sauce has a wonderfully exotic flavor. Heat lovers will enjoy notes of melon and green papaya.
